Who are you beyond GreenShift?
NOVA IMS is the School of Information Management and Data Science at NOVA University Lisbon.
stablished in 1989 to address the shortage of senior professionals in information management and the growing demand for information technology expertise, it now provides high-level education to over 4,300 students across bachelor’s, postgraduate, master’s and executive programs.
NOVA IMS´s mission is to be a smart and sustainable school that trains the future leaders of a new generation of professionals in the areas of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, providing a high-quality education that unites advanced technical knowledge with an unwavering commitment to sustainable development. Through innovative teaching approaches, cutting-edge research, and multidisciplinary collaborations, we seek to create added value for society by developing tangible and sustainable solutions to real-world challenges. What do you bring to GreenShift?
Within GreenShift, NOVA IMS leads the design and implementation of the Master’s programme online modules and lectures, ensuring that digital innovation and sustainability perspectives are deeply integrated into the educational framework.
NOVA IMS is responsible for the pilot implementation and subsequent iterations of the full-time and part-time European Master’s in AI and High-Performance Computing, delivered through hybrid and online learning models. This includes coordinating the launch and continuous improvement of multiple programme editions and ensuring accessibility for diverse audiences across Europe through digital delivery and multilingual resources.
NOVA IMS also contributes to the development of quality assurance and accreditation mechanisms within the programme, collaborating with academic and industry partners to align educational standards with European frameworks. Its expertise supports the creation of innovative digital learning environments, integrating advanced data analytics, AI-based pedagogical methods, and adaptive feedback systems that enhance learner engagement and outcomes.
In addition, NOVA IMS plays a key role in the long-term sustainability and scalability strategy of the GreenShift educational model. The institution contributes to defining frameworks for programme replication across Europe, engaging with stakeholders to expand the network of higher education institutions and fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers.
